The Westmont Special Events Committee assists the community in the successful development, promotion and execution of various special events. Events chosen by the WSEC are based on need for assistance, potential community interest and the availability of the WSEC Board to undertake the project based on time and resources.

Diane Adduci, community educator and licensed insurance representative, will provide an overview of Medicare and Medicare Supplement eligibility, enrollment, and benefits. This program is designed for people turning 65, already 65 or over but leaving an employer plan, or those who would like to learn more about Medicare. Questions are welcome! Ages 18 and up are welcome. Registration required.
Enjoy a variety of sensory art activities including painting, playdough, rice, and more! Make sure to dress your child in old clothes for this drop-in playtime! Ages 18 months to 5 years old with caregivers.

For an $8 fee per family, The Garden Club of Downers Grove will help you make a great scarecrow for your yard. Fee includes pillow case for the head, straw, wire, a wood stand, hay and some materials. Please bring clothes (pants, shirt) and any unique items you’d like to use to decorate your scarecrow. Items should be environmentally friendly (no perishable goods) and weather resistant. We have some extra clothes on hand to share. Event will be held rain or shine!
The Westmont Fire Department has several fun and educational activities planned for the public at the open house. Activities include equipment demonstrations, EMA displays, the Fire Dept. Bounce House and more. Freddy the Fire Truck and Sparky the Fire Dog will also be present to meet and greet visitors.
Date/Time Information: Application, Scarecrows and a $5 entry fee (donated to the Westmont Historical Society) to be submitted to the Westmont Chamber office (1 South Cass Ave, Westmont) by October 4th. Scarecrows will be displayed from October 9 – November 1, 2017
Help raise funds for the Friends of the Westmont Public Library at Woodgrain Neapolitan Pizzeria. Woodgrain will donate 20 percent of sales to the Friends group when you mention the Friends fundraiser at the time you order anytime between 11 am and 9 pm. The Westmont Special Events Corporation is led by an all volunteer Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible determining the direction of and leading the coordination of all WSEC events. These volunteers work to benefit the entire community of Westmont and have the thanks of the Village of Westmont for their work.
